The Program
This year the Buffalo Equestrian Center is offering six sessions. Each session will run from 9AM – 12PM Tuesday through Friday. Each session will feature activities for riders at the beginner and intermediate levels. Students may progress to a more advanced skill level as skills are mastered. In addition to group riding instruction, the program will also feature instruction on grooming, braiding, bandaging, and general horse care. Campers will learn about daily barn management and maintenance at a hunter/jumper barn and learn how to set courses. A special Camper’s Horse Show will be held at the end of the summer and is available to all campers. Children must be six years of age and each session is limited to twenty children.
Equipment Required
New York State Law requires all riders under the age of eighteen to wear a helmet meeting ASTM specifications. Each child will be required to have his or her own ASTM-SEI certified equestrian helmet showing the certification sticker inside (no bike helmets), boots with a 1” heel, and jeans or riding pants. All children must also bring water and a snack. Any child not having the appropriate equipment will not be permitted to ride.
Registration
Campers may register by mail using the attached form. All registrations must be accompanied by a non-refundable deposit or the application will not be processed. The deposit will be deducted from the balance due before the first week of camp.
